Job Summary

  • The Accounting Manager is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting.
  • This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities.
  • The Accounting Manager will have contact with senior management which requires strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal.

Job Description

  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • - Ensure general accounting transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
  • - GL and Sub Ledger control & manage
  • - Actively manages AP & AR team with day-to-day collaboration
  • - Tracks financial status by monitoring variances from budget.
  • - Perform and review monthly account reconciliation for related balance sheet accounts with detailed support schedules. Take appropriate action to clear the reconciling items.
  • - Lead month-end close process and preparation of internal financial statements. Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.
  • - Preparing for and conducting to group internal audits and annual financial audits, driving efficient processes, rigorous compliance, and impactful outcomes.
  • -Managed consolidated audit packages post-year-end, streamlining audit processes and enhancing transparency for stakeholders.
  • - Manage SOX compliance
  • - Manage accounting treatment of Right-of-Use (ROU) lease assets, including initial recognition, subsequent measurement, depreciation, and related lease liability accounting in compliance with IFRS 16/ASC 842.
  • - Oversee accounting treatment and reporting of tangible and intangible assets, ensuring accurate capitalization, amortization, and depreciation schedules in compliance with GAAP/IFRS.
  • - Maintained and renewed insurance packages (GL, EPLI, Workers' Comp, Cybersecurity, etc.)
  • - Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • -Perform ad hoc projects as necessary

Qualifications

  • - BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting
  • - Korean Bilingual (Business literature level Proficient)
  • - Minimum 8+ years of accounting experience with at least 3 years of supervisory or management experience
  • - Must have experience using Oracle, SAP, JD Edwards or related enterprise system in a professional capacity
  • - Lease Accounting (IFRS 16)
  • - Knowledge of internal controls, best practices, and the ability to research and document accounting and financial topics required
  • - Analytical skills, displaying an ability to gather, relate and compare data, and ensure data is reliable, accurate and complete
  • - Detail orientation to ensure related tasks are completed timely and accurately
  • - Thorough understanding of accounting procedures & GAAP/IFRS
  • - Ability to manage confidential information
  • - Financial closing, consolidations, reporting, planning and project management experience preferred.
  • - Position may require extended hours and work on weekends or holidays.
