Job Summary

- General Purpose
- With minimal supervision, purchase items, materials or services of a technical nature customized to company specification and delivery requirements. Expedite work, vendors, and may locate/promote new vendor sources.
Job Description
- - Purchase and expedite for timely delivery of material parts and services as required.
- - Vendor selection may include visiting vendor facilities.
- - Confer with other departments as needed for technical assistance in resolving purchasing issues.
- - Evaluate invoice charges as required.
- - Coordinate purchasing related activities involving routing, shipping and receiving of parts and materials.
- - Maintain appropriate records including encumbrance and company owned tooling stored or used by vendors.
Qualifications
- Knowledge and Skills Desired
- - Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business or equivalent education is required.
- - Proficient/Advanced skills with MS Excel and ERP (SAP)
- - 1+ years’ experience as a buyer for a manufacturing company.
- - Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
- - Understanding SOX requirements and internal controls
- - Strong attention to detail
- - Consistently able to meet reporting deadlines
- - Ability to problem solve and work independently
- - Strict work ethic
- - Strong leadership skills
- - Language skill is most preferred, communicating with customers
