Job Summary

The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for Hyundai Steel Georgia’s purchasing function. Locate and negotiate multiple suppliers that can supply products in a cost effective and timely manner. Coordinates implementation of products, services, practices, and objectives that will provide support to the Company in its goals to provide quality products and service to its customers and other business associates.

Job Description

  • - Assisting with the day-to-day efficient operation of the company;
  • - Request quotations from vendors;
  • - Analyze vendor’s products and services;
  • - Based on analysis, make recommendations as to which vendor is most competitive;
  • - Create purchase orders and issue the purchase orders;
  • - Provide business support to all departments in the purchase of materials and services;
  • - Negotiate details of purchase agreements including warranty information related to products and services
  • - Prepare reports as needed;
  • - Gather quotes, proposals, and purchase terms and conditions;
  • - Track inventory and submit purchase orders as needed;
  • - Verify inventories and determine whether certain items need to be supplied by vendors;
  • - Process invoices and if incorrect invoices are identified, resolve the issues by communicating with the
  • vendors;
  • - Attend and participate in department and company meetings;
  • - Conduct costs analysis for parts, tooling, and any supplier expenses and negotiates prices with suppliers;
  • - Engage in pricing negotiations with the vendors;
  • - Engage in contract negotiations when needed;
  • - Responsible for monthly vouchers;
  • - Interface the SAP database and maintain accurate and up to date information within the system;
  • - Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • - A Bachelor Degree (preferred but not required)
  • - One to two years of purchasing experience preferred
  • - Skills in database management and record keeping
  • - Excellent organizational skills
  • - Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows to include: Excel and PowerPoint
  • - Ability to work with all levels of employees
