Job Summary
The Shipping manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the shipping operations within the warehouse. This includes coordinating shipments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of deliveries, and supervising a team of shipping associates.
Job Description
- Plan and coordinate daily shipping activities to meet customer requirements and deadlines
- Assign tasks and monitor the performance of shipping associates to ensure efficiency and productivity
- Verify and prepare shipping documentation, including bills of lading, shipping labels, and customs forms
- Inspect and ensure proper packaging of products to prevent damage during transit
- Coordinate with carriers and logistics providers to schedule pickups and deliveries
- Conduct regular inventory checks and reconcile any discrepancies
- Maintain accurate shipping records and prepare reports on shipping activities
- Ensure compliance with shipping regulations and safety standards
- Train and mentor shipping associates on proper procedures and best practices
- Continuously identify areas for improvement and implement process enhancements to streamline shipping operations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics or supply chain management is a plus
- Experience in a shipping or logistics role, with at least 5 years in a supervisory capacity
- In-depth knowledge of shipping procedures, regulations, and documentation requirements
- Proficient in using shipping software and systems, such as ERP(SAP) or WMS
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling shipping documentation
- Effective communication and leadership abilities to manage a team
- Korean language skills are preferred
- Knowledge of safety regulations and practices related to shipping and handling of goods
