Job Description
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and other regulatory safety standards by conducting regular audits and inspections.
- Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
- Conduct safety training and presentations for new hires and existing employees, covering topics such as PPE usage, emergency procedures, and hazard recognition.
- Investigate workplace accidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain and update safety records, reports, and documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with production teams to identify potential safety hazards and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Lead emergency preparedness initiatives, including fire drills, evacuation plans, and first aid/CPR training.
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials in compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related inquiries, inspections, and audits.
- Continuously monitor industry trends and regulatory changes to keep the company’s safety programs up to date.
Qualifications
- Bilingual English and Spanish (fluency required)
- degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and other relevant safety regulations.
- Experience conducting safety training and presentations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to workplace safety.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting and presentations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Authorized to work lawfully in the United States
